چکیده

In some situations where active noise control could be used, the well-known multichannel version of the ltered-X LMS adaptive lter is too computationally-complex to implement. In this paper, we develop a fast, exact implementation of this multichannel system whose complexity is approximately O(2L) per lter channel, where L is the FIR lter length. In addition, we provide a computationally-e cient method for e ectively removing the delays of the secondary paths within the coe cient updates, thus yielding a fast implementation of the LMS adaptive algorithm for multichannel active noise control. Examples illustrate both the equivalence of the algorithms to their original counterparts and the computational gains provided by the new algorithms.

Multichannel active noise control algorithms using inverse filters

1.0 Introduction For active noise control (ANC) systems, a common approach is to use adaptive FIR filters trained with the filtered-x LMS algorithm [1], for both feedforward systems and Internal Model Control (IMC) feedback systems, in monochannel or multichannel systems. Variations of the algorithm sometimes called the modified filtered-x LMS algorithm have been published [2], which can achiev...

Multichannel recursive-least-square algorithms and fast-transversal-filter algorithms for active noise control and sound reproduction systems

In the last ten years, there has been much research on active noise control (ANC) systems and transaural sound reproduction (TSR) systems. In those fields, multichannel FIR adaptive filters are extensively used. For the learning of FIR adaptive filters, recursive-least-squares (RLS) algorithms are known to produce a faster convergence speed than stochastic gradient descent techniques, such as t...

Inverse structure for active noise control and combined active noise control/sound reproduction systems

In this paper, a simple inverse structure for multichannel active noise control (ANC) is introduced, based on the use of noncausal models of the (pseudo-)inverse plant between the error sensors (typically microphones in ANC systems) and the actuators (typically loudspeakers). This structure, combined with adaptive FIR filters and filtered-x LMS-based algorithms, can produce both a reduction of ...

Fast Exact Adaptive Algorithms for Feedforward Active NoiseControlDavid

{ The fast exact least-mean-square (LMS) algorithm is a computationally-eecient method for computing the outputs and updates for an adaptive LMS nite-impulse-response (FIR) lter. In this paper, we extend this method to several useful algorithms for feedforward active noise control: the ltered-X LMS, modiied ltered-X LMS, eecient modiied ltered-X LMS, periodic ltered-X LMS, and sequential ltered...
